When "Modern" Medicine Failed...
In 1951, a young doctor named Albert Mason was called upon to help a 16 year old boy
suffering from an extremely bad case of ichthyosis. This is usually a hereditary condition
in which the patient has fewer than normal sweat and sebaceous glands, which causes the
skin to become dry and scaly.
This poor young boy's body was almost completely covered in a thick smelly layer of
hard, dried skin which often oozed with bloody serum. Because of the bleeding, much of
the scaly layer was blackish in color.
The boy had suffered this condition since birth and "modern" medicine had failed to help.
Twice, he had been given skin graft operations but each time the new skin flared up like the rest.
At the time that Dr Mason agreed to try help, other professionals laughingly supposed
that perhaps young Mason did not realize hypnosis was not intended to be used to heal congenital diseases.
At a hospital in East Grinstead, Sussex, in front of a dozen skeptical doctors as witness, Mason
hypnotized the boy, focusing on clearing up his left arm.
Five days later the blackened skin became crumbly and fell off to reveal underneath,
reddish new - but otherwise normal skin. Ten days later the boy's left arm was clear.
Mason proceeded to use hypnosis on the other parts of the boy's body, achieving
remarkable results that "modern medicine" had not been able to achieve.
Believe it?
The case was documented in the British Medical Journal for 1952.
Three years later Dr Mason wrote a follow up article reporting that the boy's skin was
still clear and the results appeared to be permanent.
